Miani Venetian Glass Jewellery - Handmade in Venice with Murano Glass

Venetian Glass beads jewellery

Miani Venetian Glass Jewellery

Miani Venetian Jewelry is a small artisan workshop in Venice in the Cannaregio quarter. Its proprietor, Nicola Miani, comes from a long line of handcrafting specialists. His grandfather worked with leather, while his father made silver frames and jewellery boxes. Nicola’s sister Elena specialises in the tradition of lamp-working, where a lamp is used to melt the glass, which is then formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements into beautiful glass beads. Their jewellery is pure Venetian: authentic glass beads (made from glass sticks from the island of Murano) that are then used to create stunning original necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

I stumbled across the Miani Jewellery workshop on a long rambling walk around the Sestiere of Cannaregio several years ago. Hopefully, when you can return to Venice you might visit their workshop and see how and where this wonderful jewellery is made.
